The length of the hi-hat stand rod is an important topic that comes up in many of the discussions amongst drummers because it defines two integral factors for drum setup: the height of the hi-hat cymbals, and the left side set up capability. Now, TAMA offers two hi-hat rod lengths, a 500mm (19 5/8”) model and a 350mm (13 3/4”) model. When using the new shorter rod, the left side of the drum kit is freed up to make space for extra toms or cymbals.
